Great Britain. Army. 52d Oxfordshire Regiment of foot.
The 52d Oxfordshire landed at Madras in 1783 and for nine years was involved in intermittent campaigning against Tippoo Sahib of Mysore. In Jan. 1785, the 52d lodged complaints that other regiments in India were getting more rations and pay. When their demands for the same were not met, they mutinied. The matter was resolved by 3 Feb. 1785.
