Graduated from USMA in 1925 and became a member of U.S. Army Corps of Engineers from 1925-1955. During 1925-36 he rose from 2nd Lieutenant to Major and was a student or instructor at various Army engineering schools. As Captain he was assistent District Engineer at Pittsburgh District COE (1936-38) ; Company commander of 1st Engineer Battalion (1938-40) and 84th Engineer Battalion (1941-44). As Lt. Colonel and Colonel was with the Eastern Defense Command in New York. From 1944-45 he was a base engineer at Finchaffen, New Guinea. Was attached to the Philippine Base Section in Manila (1945-46). In 1949 was with the Memphis Engineer District. As Colonel from Sept. 1949-52 was at Yokohama, Japan with 8th Army and Japan Logistical Command as an engineer. Became assistant and then District Engineer of the Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh Engineer District (1953-55). Retired in 1955.
