South Carolina family. Thomas Porcher (1766-1835), a plantation owner (Ophir Plantation, St. John's Berkeley Parish, S.C.) and South Carolina state senator, married Charlotte Mazyck (d. 1804) in 1792. After her death he married Elizabeth Sinkler Dubose (1788-1866). His children by both marriages included Thomas Porcher (1796-1843), Charlotte Porcher (b. 1794), Peter Cordes Porcher (1814-1853), and Anna Maria Porcher (b. 1811), who married Peter Gaillard Stoney (1809-1884).
