Reid, Jan.
Journalist and novelist Jan Reid has written extensively for Texas Monthly magazine, and wrote The Improbable Rise of Redneck Rock (1974), telling the story of the development of progressive country music, as well as Deerinwater (1985), Vain Glory (1986), Close Calls: Jan Reid's Texas (2000), and The Bullet Meant for Me: A Memoir (2002).
