Cavett, Van A., 1932-

Mr. Cavett grew up in a small Delta town in Mississippi. He attended Millsaps College and edited the campus newspaper. After serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, he enrolled in Northwestern's School of Journalism. He has worked for newspapers in Tennessee, Kentucky, and Mississippi. In 1974, he was promoted to editorial page editor of the Louisville Times.
