Schauder (1920- ) born in Clintonville and raised in Marshfield (Wisconsin), was drafted into the Army in 1943 and served as assistant battalion surgeon with 2nd Battalion, 385th Infantry Regiment, 90th Division in the Third Army. Following discharge in 1945, Schauder went into the shoe business.
