Robert C. Bright, B.S. (1952), M.S. (1960) University of Utah; Ph.D. (1963) University of Minnesota. Professor of geology and ecology at the University of Minnesota (1965-1995); curator of paleontology (1965-1995) and invertebrates (1987-1995) at the Bell Museum of Natural History.Robert C. Bright was born in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1929. He earned his B.S. in 1952 in geology and his M.S. in 1960 from the University of Utah. The University of Minnesota awarded his Ph.D. in geology in 1963. He joined the staff of the University in 1964 as a research associate at the Limnological Research Center, later moving to the Department of Geology (1965) then the Department of Ecology, Evolution and Behavior. Professor Bright was a specialist in paleoecology and paleontology. In addition to his teaching duties, he was also the curator of paleontology (1965-1995) and invertebrates (1987-1995) at the Bell Museum of Natural History. Robert Bright died on February 16, 1995.
