William A. "Bill" Farrow Jr. was born in Denver, Colo. on March 8, 1925 and enlisted in the Army on May 22, 1943 at Denver, Colo. At the time of enlistment he was unmarried, had completed four years of high school, and working as a tinsmith. Farrow joined the 10th Mountain Division at Camp Hale, Colo., where he was assigned to Headquarters Company of the 85th Infantry Regiment , but later also served with Company E of the Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion; and Company E of the 85th Infantry Regiment. He was also stationed at Camp Swift, Tex. before being deployed to Italy. Farrow was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for his actions near Campidello on March 5, 1945. He attained the rank of Private First Class.
