Hollingshead, John fl. 1775-81.
John Hollingshead was Captain of the 2nd New Jersey Regiment that was commanded by Israel Shreve and assigned to the New Jersey Brigade. In July - Sept. 1779, the regiment took part in John Sullivan's campaign against the Six Nations. On Aug. 23, 1779 John Hollingshead was appointed Major of the 3rd New Jersey Regiment. He resigned from the army in 1781.
