United Daughters of Confederacy. Appomattox County Chapter (Appomattox County, Virginia).
The Appomattox County chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy was one of the earlier organizations formed by women to support the Confederate cause and philosophy. Formed in the 1800's, the organization was unified in 1894 by Caroline Goodlett. The organization mission was to give emotional and physical support to the families and military soldiers of the Confederacy.
