Moore, Wayne E.

Wayne E. Moore (1919-2009) was born in Ill. to Ruth and Ernest O. Moore. He graduated from the University of Illinois and earned a Ph.D. from Cornell as a geologist. He worked for Chevron Oil and taught at Virginia Tech and Central Michigan University, 1971-1986. His research interest was petroleum, particularly in the Michigan Basin. During World War II, Wayne served in India with the CBI (China-Burma-India) troops. His wife, Ethel, and children: Carol, Sarah, Irene, and Bruce, and grandchildren survived him. Wayne E. Moore was buried at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minn. (This information is from his obituary, 2009.)
