E. H. F. Swain was the United Nations Forestry Expert in Ethiopia during 1951-1955.

E H F Swain joined the NSW Department of Forestry as Cadet Forester in 1899. He was appointed Director of Forests, Queensland in 1918 and in 1924 Chairman of the Forestry Board. When he retired in 1948 he was Commissioner of NSW Forestry Commission. He has written a number of items relating to forestry.
