Robert Douglas & Company.
The company, located in Lowell, Mass., was founded by John M. Abbott, Alexander S. Neilson and Alfred Gardner in 1924 to manufacture worsted yarns. In 1928 the company was reorganized, with John P. Stevens, C. Brooks Stevens, and Ames Stevens having a controlling interest. At that time it increased its work force and began producing worsted serges. In 1941 the building and most of the machinery was sold to the Royal Spinning Mills of Delaware.
