Medical missionary; born Vera Edna Thiessen on December 15, 1919; received R.N. degree from Henry Ford Hospital School of Nursing and Hygiene, 1943; graduated from Wheaton College, 1946; served as medical missionary in Belgian Congo/Zaire with Africa Inland Mission, 1946-1976; was appointed public health nurse for DuPage County in Illinois, 1978; moved to Florida, 1979.
