Nauvoo Legion (Utah) Battalion of Life Guards
Company of life guards was formally organized in 1849, followed by independent battalion organization in 1852. Unit was subject at all times to call of territorial governor and lieutenant general of Nauvoo Legion. Also known as Rangers or Minutemen.
