Sarah Parry (nee Rigby) was born in 1749, the daughter of John Rigby who ran a hostel for the students of the Dissenter's Academy in Warrington, which Caleb Hillier Parry attended between 1770 and 1773. In 1778, she married Parry and they settled in Bath where Parry established a successful medical practice. They had nine children and their youngest son, William Edward Parry, the Arctic explorer, was born in 1790. She was widowed in 1822 and died in December 1831.
