Leland, Marine
Leland was born Dec. 2, 1899. She was educated at Radcliffe College (A.B., 1923; A.M., 1925; Ph. D., 1928) and attended the Sorbonne and the Univerity of Madrid. Leland taught at Smith College from 1924 to 1965 in French literature and French Canadian civilization. She also held visiting professorships in other universities. She was responsible for the development of the Canadian collection in the Smith College Library. She died May 13, 1983.
