Lieutenant Colonel Harry R. Borowski served as a tanker navigator early in his military career, was a graduate of the Armed Forces Staff College, was a tenure professor at the United States Air Force Academy and director for both military and United States history, and from July to December 1987 was Acting Head of the Department of History. Among other writings, Borowski published a book entitled "A Hollow Threat: Strategic Air Power and Containment before Korea" which was an early history of the Strategic Air Command (SAC). Upon his military retirement in 1988, Harry Borowski embarked on a successful career in real estate in the Colorado Springs area.
