Tedeschi, Jane Dunbar.

Native of Washington, D.C., the daughter of two chemists who worked for the U.S. Bureau of Chemistry (later the Food and Drug Administration). Grew up in Somerset, Maryland and graduated from Gettysburg College where she became interested in flying. She later earned her private pilot's license, her radiotelephone license, was a member of the Civil Air Patrol, and worked for the Army Ordnance Association. Joined the WASP, class 44-W-4 at Sweetwater, Texas and served at Craig Army Air Field in Selma, Alabama.
