During the 1930's, Lucy O'Brien became the first female news reporter at the Tampa Tribune, working for the newspaper for a total of eleven years over four decades. After retiring from the paper in 1958, she used her collection of paper ephemera to open an antique and collectibles shop in Ybor City, The Red Horse.
