Photographer; resided most of his life in southern New Jersey; was employed by various newspapers in Philadelphia and Camden, including the Philadelphia Inquirer; served as a photographer in the United States Army during World War II, including service in Europe; as a free lance photographer, provided images to the Newark Star Ledger for a series of articles on New Jersey history written by Henry Charlton Beck (from 1947 to 1965) and continued by Augustine (through 1973) after Beck's death; lived in retirement in Florida.
