Hide Profile

The Bathgate Homemakers Club was organized in August of 1940 by Mrs. David Brown, affiliated with the North Dakota Homemakers' Clubs. She was assisted by Miss Nessit who belonged to the Cavalier Homemakers Club. At this time, the Club officers were elected and committees were formed. When the Club met in September, it was agreed to have monthly meetings hosted by a member. Club programs were presented by each member on various topics such as home management, foods, clothing, book reviews, and health. The colors of the Club were blue and gold, the peony was the Club flower, and the Club motto was "Better Homes For Better Citizens". Club dues were $1.20 and membership was limited to 15 members. On June 10, 1965 the club celebrated it 25th anniversary, and on May 6, 1980 a special meeting was held to honor its charter members. The Club functioned for 45 years, then disbanding in 1984.
