Goebel Monument Commission.
Two monuments in Frankfort, Kentucky, honor of William Goebel, the only state governor to be assassinated. Charles H. Niehaus, a New York sculptor, created both monuments. The monument in the Frankfort Cemetery was paid for by a private subscription collected by the Goebel Monument Commission. Known as "The Orator," the monument was dedicated February 3, 1910.
