Ellis, George C.
Brother of Holy Cross who entered St. Edward's University as a student in 1941. As a member of the Texas State Guard, he was supply officer at St. Edward's Military Academy from 1943-1946. After earning a BA degree from The University of Texas in 1946 he became a librarian at St. Edward's University and later secretary of the St. Edward's Alumni Office from 1955-1969. In his retirement he was an active artist and writer and in 1971 received an honorary Master of Arts degree from the University. He died in 1974. Also known as Brother Hugo.
