Represented in the collection are Erastus Hoskins, Confederate Army officer with the Quartermaster Corps and 38th Mississippi mounted infantry (Mabry's Cavalry Brigade), resident of Lexington, Miss.; his wife, Lou (Pinkston) Hoskins, of Lexington, Miss.; her brother, James Preston Pinkston, who served in the Confederate Army artillery under Generals Bragg and Johnston.
