Hampson, Terry.

Terry Hampson is a former Brisbane City Council Councillor and Australian Labor Party (ALP) State Secretary. In February, 2005, he was awarded a life membership of the ALP for his 40 years of contribution to the Party - he became a member in 1961. In 1965 Terry Hampson joined the Bald Hills Branch of the ALP, to eventually hold the position of State Secretary between the years of 1988 and 1991. He left State politics to serve in local government for Merchant Ward between 1991 and 2004. He was active during the Joh Bjelke Peterson government, being arrested with other demonstrators, as well as being active in conservation causes, including the Fraser Island Defenders Organisation.
