Spooner, C. Willett (collector).
C. Willett Spooner was professor in the Department of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering at the University of Michigan. In the late 1950s, he left the university in order to work in private industry. Perhaps in this connection, he was able to obtain these motion pictures relating to the construction of freighters by the Great Lakes Engineering Works of River Rouge, Michigan.
From the guide to the C. Willett Spooner visual materials collection, 1957-1960, (Bentley Historical Library, University of Michigan)
