Evans, Bayard D. (Bayard Daniel), 1900-1980
Bayard D. Evans was born on February 1, 1900. He was a restaurateur, civic leader, and collector. He and his wife, Ruth Nickell Evans, were the owners of the Evans Cafeteria in Washington, D.C., the Evans Coffee Shop in Arlington, Virginia, and Evans Farm Inn in McLean, Virginia. During World War II, Evans served on the industry advisory committee of the Office of Price Administration and was also attached to the War Production Board and the Office of Price Stabilization. He was an active member of several civic and professional groups in Northern Virginia. He died on September 7, 1980.
