A Russian-American violoncellist and music teacher, Evsei Beloussoff came to the United States in 1923, made a transcontinental tour, and appeared in New York as a soloist and in sonata recitals with Ossip Gabrilowitsch, Wanda Landowska, and Rubin Goldmark. In later years he taught at the Juilliard Institute of Musical Arts and at the Y.M.H.A. Music School.
