Mary Haskin Parker Richards (1823-1860) was born in Lancashire, England, and married Samuel W. Richards in the Nauvoo Temple in 1846. In May 1846 Samuel departed for a mission in Great Britain, and Mary traveled with his parents throughout Iowa and Nebraska. After Samuel's return in 1848, the couple lived in Fremont County, Iowa, before journeying to Utah in 1849. In 1855 Samuel married Mary's niece Mary Ann Parker, and later married four other plural wives. Mary died in Utah in 1860.
