McGinnis, Callie B.

Callie B. McGinnis was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. She attended Benjamin Franklin High School, a college prep school. She graduated from Southwestern College (later named Rhodes College) in Memphis, Tennessee, with a degree in English. Then she went to Louisiana State University and earned a Masters degree in Library Science. Her first job was at Macon Jr. College. She got married, moved to Columbus, and on July 1, 1974, started work at Columbus College. One of Dean McGinnis' favorite hobbies is genealogy. She has taught genealogy classes and served as the President of the local genealogy society for many years. She was also involved with the Linwood Cemetery Board for many years.
