Hide Profile

The Weston Lumber Company, located in Logtown (Hancock County), Mississippi, was founded in 1889 by Henry Weston, a native of Maine, who worked in the timber industry first in Wisconsin in the 1840's and then with various partners in the Logtown area before and after the Civil War. Weston's successful operation, inherited by his sons after his death in 1912, was hampered by the depletion of the yellow pine forests of southern Mississippi and finally closed in 1930.
