Coffin family
D. Coffin traveled to California from New York via the clipper ship Grecian, which set sail on March 2, 1852. The ship stopped in Rio de Janeiro for several days in mid-April, rounded Cape Horn in mid-May, and arrived in San Francisco on August 11.
