Colleges for Oregon's Future was established in the late 1950s as a non-partisan citizen organization to increase public understanding of the needs of higher education in Oregon. The organization remained active through the 1970s. The organization partnered with the Oregon State System of Higher Education to prepare educational and information materials. Former Oregon Governer Charles A. Sprague served as state chairman of Colleges for Oregon's Future in 1964; Ursel Narver was chair in the 1970s.
