Finney, Samuel Bell, 1833-1925
Physician and abolitionist; originally of Delta, Ohio; during the Civil War he joined the 166th Ohio Volunteers and ended up as one of the body guards to President Abraham Lincoln. After the war he moved to Fulton County to pursue the manufacture of herbal remedies and other medicines, eventually shipping them throughout the world, and becoming quite wealthy in the process.
