Hasty, Richard S. (Richard Spencer), 1928-2000
Variant namesRichard Spencer Hasty ( 1928-2000 ) was born in Dover, New Hampshire . He received a BA from the University of New Hampshire in 1950, an STB from Harvard University in 1956, and a DMin from Andover Newton Theological School in 1989 . Although raised a Methodist, Hasty was ordained a Unitarian minister in 1956 . He served congregations in Fall River, Duxbury, and Springfield, Massachusetts ; Portland, Maine ; Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Shaker Heights, Ohio ; Detroit, Michigan ; and Peoria, Illinois . He was named minister emeritus of the Unitarian Universalist Society of Greater Springfield, Massachusetts, in 1998 .
