Southern Baseball League.
The Southern Baseball League, an offspring of the Southern Atlantic League beginning in 1964, brought together eight minor league southern ball clubs. It merged with the Texas League in 1971 to form the Dixie Association. Billy Hitchcock of Opelika, Ala., was league president, 1971-ca. 1980.
