Vaile family.
Joel Frederick Vaile (1846-1916) was general counsel for Denver and Rio Grande Railroad. He had four children: William Newell Vaile (1876-1927), a Colorado Congressman; Lucretia Vaile (1884-1976), librarian at the Denver Public Library; Gertrude (1878-1954), a prominent Denver social worker; and Luis F. Vaile (1880-1957), an engineer in Calif. HIs grandson, Joel Frederick Vaile II (1917-1952) served in World War II as a military governor in Germany who later served on the War Crimes Commission. He married Peggy Whaley Suchotzki Vaile. After J.F. Vaile II's death in 1952, his wife, Peggy Vaile, married Ahmed El-Dib.
