Business entrepreneur and funeral home director. After the death of her husband, J. C. Holmes, in 1916, she operated the Holmes Funeral Directors, Inc. in Jacksonville. Married Reverend Thomas H. B. Walker, a Methodist minister and author, in 1918. Managed real estate properties in Jacksonville and New York.
