Minister at Sault Ste. Marie.

Born in Enfield, New Hampshire on May 9, 1786, Son of Elisha and Hanna Bingham. Married Hanna O. Brown, May 1, 1809, served in New York Militia, 1813 to end of the War of 1812, commissioned Lieutenant and wounded. Farmed at Caledonia, N.Y. 1817. In 1822 went to minister to the Seneca Native Americans at the Tonawanda reservation near Buffalo, New York for six years. In July 1828 received an appointment from the Board of Foreign Missions at missionary to the Ojibwa Native Americans Of Lake Superior at Sault Ste. Marie arriving there Oct. 9, 1828. He retired from the Mission in 1855 and moved to Grand Rapids to live near his daughter, Mrs. J.C. Buchanan (Sophia), where he died Nov. 26, 1865. Other children were Mrs. Ann H. Hulbert and Rev.
