Incorporated in 1884 under the laws of the state of Minnesota, the company altered its name from "Railway" to "Railroad" in 1885. It operated a 200-mile line from Winnipeg Junction, MN to Pembina, ND, and operated branch lines from Key West to Sherack, MN, and from Red Lake Falls Junction to Red Lake Falls, MN. It was sold to NP in 1898.
