David Lance Goines is an American artist, calligrapher, typographer, printing entrepreneur, and author.

Weininger was born September 28, 1933 in Ukraine. His family emigrated to the United States in 1950, settling in Chicago. He served in the U.S. Army, graduated from officer candidate school in 1958, and received his B.A. from the University of Chicago in 1960. He moved to Berkeley in 1963 and lived there for the remainder of his life. He received his J.D. at age 54 from the University of San Francisco in 1988. He was the owner of the Carpet Center and was very active in Berkeley's civic, business and cultural affairs. He ran for Berkeley City Council in 1975, was president of the Berkeley Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Directors of the Berkeley Democratic Club, and served in various capacities for the Rotary Club of Berkeley, City of Berkeley Civic Arts Commission and Planning Commission, and Planned Parenthood. His long friendship with David Lance Goines began shortly after Weininger's arrival in Berkeley. Harry Weininger died May 31, 2010.
