United Spanish War Veterans. Dept. of Illinois.
The state department of the national fraternal and beneficent organization for men who served in the armed forces during the Spanish-American War, the Philippine Insurrection and the Boxer Rebellion.
The Illinois department was formed in 1904 and was divided into districts and individual camps. The organization participated in memorial ceremonies and held annual encampments. The state office officially closed in 1967.
