Hide Profile

Charles Cullis (1833-1892) was a Boston homeopathic physician who was a leader in the faith-cure movement. In 1865, he opened his first home for consumptives in Boston. Many other homes in Boston and other cities followed: "Spinal Home," "Faith-Cure House," "Deaconess House," "Lewis Mission," "Faith Training College," and homes in Boynton, Va., Alameda, Cal., Renicks Valley, W. Va., Oxford, N.C., and India. Tract repositories were started in Boston and New York, the most famous of which was the Willard Tract Repository in Boston. No provision was made for the continuation of Cullis' work after his death, most of his charities dissolved within a few years. Cullis' published works, all published by the Williard Tract Repository, include: _Dorothea Trudel ..._ (1872), _Faith Hymns_ (1870), _Songs of Victory_ (1889), and others.
