John B. Fairbanks (1855-1940) was the official photographer of the Benjamin Cluff Expedition to Mexico from 1901 to 1903. He also painted murals in the St. George, Salt Lake, and Mesa Temples of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was the father of Avard T. Fairbanks.

John Boylston Fairbanks, originally from New York and New Jersey, was a Mormon pioneer. He immigrated to Utah and settled in Payson where he was a merchant, farmer, city councilman, and in the bishopric.
