Meynen received an M.D. from New York University in 1885 and became chief surgeon for the Long Island Rail Road Company. He was also on the staffs of the Mary Immaculate, Jamaica, and Mineola hospitals in Jamaica, N.Y., and a member of the New York Academy of Medicine.
