Bruce Brownlie Maguire was born in Youngstown, Ohio on May 26, 1911. His ministry included pastorates in university communities in Kentucky and Ohio, 1936-1942. He was a staff correspondent for The Christian Century from 1940-1942. Maguire served as an Area Student Secretary for the Pacific Southwest Area Council of YMCAs from 1942-1955. He served on the National Board of Young Men's Christian Associations from 1955-1970 as Executive Secretary in the Student Department and National Student Council of YMCAs.
