Battle, H. B. (Herbert Bemerton), 1862-1929

He graduated from the University of North Carolina with his B.S. in 1881 and his Ph.D. in 1887. Battle was an original member and Vice President of the Alabama Anthropological Society, founded in 1909. He married Alice Matilda Wilson in 1885.
