Jackson-Hodges, Evanna, 1948-
Evanna Jackson-Hodges was born in Brusly, La., in 1948 to Evanna and Ferman Jackson. After attending segregated schools through the eleventh grade, Jackson-Hodges enrolled in the integrated Brusly Public School System. She was the only African American to attend Brusly High School in 1966. Jackson-Hodges graduted from Southern University in 1970. She moved to California and taught in the Stockton Unified School District for over 27 years. She later received a M.S. degree in educational administration.
