Born in the Old Fort in Salt Lake City, Utah, July 12, 1848, to Elizabeth Ann Pettit and James Gray Willie. Resided in Salt Lake City until the spring of 1859 when he, with his family, moved to Mendon, Cache, Utah. Married Mary Ann Hunsaker Feb. 8, 1875 and Hannah Leavitt Baker Jan. 6, 1881. Served a Mormon Church mission to England, 1881-1883. Died in Mendon, June 28, 1923.
